Our founder, Kristie is originally from Hillsboro, Oregon. Although she has been in NYC for over 10 years she says calling herself a "New Yorker" still feels funny. When asked how she started off her career?, Kristie said by having "lots of careers" as she laughed. Anyone who really knows Kristie, knows she has held so many positions at big and small companies across the nation that her talent is really to make a connection between your specialty and your market.
I have two young kids and love being a working mom. I love the chaos of family life balanced with work life. I enjoy disappearing with my family on a trip back home to Oregon for a ski trip at Mt. Hood or upstate New York for a camping trip too, so we have some balance. Today (Covid-19) has our changed our work lives and now you'll see my kids sometimes, which I secretly love. I welcome kids in the office, especially a project where I can teach my kid (or anyones kids) anything about the what a female does in the work place and how to create your own path in the world. Stark Standard is 100% Minority and Women Owned Company and certified by New York City, so as a mom of two young kids and a transplant from Oregon, I am living the dream. I have a great support system and partner, which is my husband.
